Clients and candidates often ask me where the name Dagen came from. There are two answers. In Norwegian, Dagen means “this day” or “that day”—a nod to the idea of seizing the day. But the real story goes much deeper.

In 2006, I was going through a major life transition. I was navigating a divorce, splitting a business, and working closely with a psychiatrist who helped guide me through those changes. During that time, I needed a name for a new company I was forming—but nothing felt right.

For months, I had a recurring series of dreams. In each one, I found myself in unsafe or dangerous situations. And every time, the same woman would appear and save me. Sometimes she used her words; other times, she simply guided me with her hands. No matter the situation, she always led me to safety.

Then one night, after she saved me once again, she began to walk away. I called out, “Wait! What is your name?” She turned back, looked at me, and said, “My name is Dagen.”

It was the last time she ever appeared in my dreams.

When I shared the dream with Dr. Rynearson, he said, “That’s it. That’s the name. It’s what saved you, and it’s what will continue to save you.”

In that divine encounter, Dagen Personnel was born.

Since that moment, Dagen has been more than a name. It has helped me—and countless others. Dagen is how people find jobs, support their families, build careers, and pursue their dreams.

It’s more than just a company; it’s a calling. A gift. A purpose. This gift is the Dagen team, the clients, the candidates, and everyone that has been touched by it.

So, where did the name Dagen come from?
It came from God.

What’s your dream?
